I have mentioned before that work has taken me to places that I never would have gone to otherwise. Several different states, but most importantly all over the state I call home. Kentucky is gorgeous. I have been to several state parks over the past five years and this past Monday, I was able to go to Irvine, Kentucky and spend the day at Snug Hollow Farm. The little gem of a place is a bed and breakfast on 300 acres in the foothills of KY. Eco-friendly, all vegetarian, and best of all - I had no cell service for a full 8 hours. Barbara Napier is the owner and she has three perfect buildings that people can stay in. I arrived and parked at the bottom of this little hill, a fabulous woman picked us up in a golf cart and FLEW up the hill to the building we would have our retreat in. Sidebar - This retreat I speak of, I went with all of the fabulous directors of all of the Rape Crisis Centers across the state for a strategic planning retreat. End sidebar - When we walked into the house there were fresh homemade biscuits waiting and homemade jam. Lunch was glorious and the main house is beautiful. Full of plants and light poured in. This bed and breakfast has been featured in National Geographic 5 or so times, and one of the cabins was specifically named one of National Geographic 50 Best Girlfriend Getaways...any of my girlfriends up for a weekend trip.
